Delete your Oh My Lore! account and data
Oh My Lore! lets you permanently delete your account and the data associated with it. You can do this from inside the app, or — if you cannot or do not want to install the app — by emailing us. Either way, the request is honoured; you do not need the app to ask us to delete your data.
1. Delete from inside the app
If you have Oh My Lore! installed or open in a browser:
- Sign in and tap your avatar (top right) to open the account menu.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Pick one of the two options:
- Keep my campaigns for others — your personal data, vault maps and claimed characters are removed; campaigns you created stay accessible to the other players in them.
- Delete everything — every campaign you own, and all of its quests, notes, characters and maps, is permanently deleted; you are also removed from campaigns owned by other members.
- Type DELETE to confirm. Your account is deleted immediately — this cannot be undone.
2. Request deletion without installing the app
Email support@ohmylore.app from the email address your account was created with, with “Delete my account” in the subject, and tell us which of the two options above you want. We will verify the request and action it without requiring you to sign in or install the app. We respond within 30 days (GDPR Art. 12(3)); we may ask you to confirm you control that email address before acting on the request.
3. What is deleted, and what is retained
This mirrors the retention table in our Privacy Policy §7:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| “Keep my campaigns for others” | Personal profile & claimed characters removed; campaigns you created remain accessible to other players |
| “Delete everything” | Campaigns you own — and all their maps, notes, quests and images — are permanently removed from active databases. Content you created inside other members’ campaigns may remain in those campaigns, with your identity unlinked. |
| Deleted map images in Firebase Storage | Up to 30 days in a “trash” state before permanent purge |
| Technical / IP logs | Up to 30 days for security and rate-limiting purposes |
| Backups | Up to 90 days in encrypted backups before full rotation |
| Billing records (invoices, payment history) | 10 years — required by Czech Act No. 235/2004 Sb. on VAT and Act No. 563/1991 Sb. on accounting |
In both in-app options, your Firebase authentication account is deleted as the final step, and this is irreversible.
3a. Subscriptions and purchases
- Bought on ohmylore.app (web): deleting your account cancels any active subscription immediately. The remaining, already-paid part of the billing period is not refunded, and unused credits are lost — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you would rather keep the subscription running to the end of the period, cancel it first from the billing page and delete the account afterwards.
- Bought in the iOS app (App Store): App Store subscriptions belong to your Apple ID, not to your Oh My Lore! account. Deleting your account does not cancel them and Apple will keep charging you. Cancel first in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, then delete the account. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
